Popular Sovereignty
Popular sovereignty is the doctrine that sovereign power is vested in the people and that those chosen to govern, as trustees of suchpower, must exercise it in conformity with the general will. (

- Voting
- Decisions upon whether somethings are right or not (When slavery still existed, different territories had different opinions, so each territory was allowed to decided if they wanted slavery or not.)
- We are a democratic republic, as stated in the constitution.
- Having freedom from outside forces.
